To support implementation of activities in the country, UNIFEM is now inviting qualified candidates to apply for the following positions for its new project office in Sarajevo:

NATIONAL PROJECT COORDINATOR


Summary of duties and responsibilities:
• Coordinates the implementation of GRB programme activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, following ongoing activities and identifying new entry points with focus on higher involvement with government entities at various levels of government;
• Undertakes continuous monitoring of progress on GRB work, prepares reports and correspondence as necessary and provide needed input to donor reports (in conjunction with relevant staff and consultants);
• Develops and continuously update the implementation plan for the GRB programme and ensure its timely execution;
• Supports implementing partners to achieve results in a timely manner through provision of technical guidance and support for capacity development;
• Facilitates partnership building between civil society organizations (CSO) and government partners;
• Supports the GRB Project Manager in pursuing linkages between GRB activities in BiH and other countries in sub- regional programme, contribute to information exchange and the development of sub- regional activities and knowledge products;
• Participates in relevant UN, government, donor and CSO meetings on behalf of UNIFEM and ensure coordination and collaboration between UNIFEM and other UN agencies operating the country;
• Provides programmatic and coordination support, as needed, in the area of women's economic rights and labor legislation to the UNIFEM project manager of the sub-regional programme „ Accountability for the Protection of Women's Human Rights“.

Minimum Requirements, Qualification and Experience:
• Advanced degree in economics, public policy, development studies, gender studies, international relations, or similar.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Previous employment experience with international organization is an asset as is previous work on gender and public finance.
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in gender work;
• Programme / project design and management skills;
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills in both Bosnian and English;
• Computer literacy.

Programme Assistant

Summary of duties and responsibilities:
• Supports the work of the National Project Coordinator of the GRB Project as necessary in implementing and monitoring activities under the GRB project, building partnerships and liaising with other UN agencies, as per annual work plans;
• Assists in the preparation of the field visits, special events, coordination of meetings, UNIFEM staff missions, including the development of background material and other relevant reports and documentation;
• Drafts routine correspondence and translates as necessary;
• Maintains ongoing contract with partners, including government, civil society organizations, international organizations, UN agencies, and donors. Assists the National Project Coordinator of the GRB Project (and later of the International gender Advisers) in monitoring and evaluation the performance of partners under contracts/agreements with UNIFEM;
• Monitors media coverage for information and articles pertaining to UNIFEM's scope of interests and programming, and regularly updates the supervisors on the development;
• Supports day-to-day administrative work related to the smooth running of the office, including oversight of communications/electronic/IT systems and the coordination of the meetings, note taking and follow-up;
• Supports and coordinates all logistics related to staff travel such as lodging, transportation, visas;
• Receives and approves invoices for purchased goods and services and submits them to the Regional Office for payments in a timely manner;
• Manages petty cash and attends to small values procurement of office supplies, stationers and ensures timely re-order of stock;
• Keeps and updates annual leave and absence monitoring records;
• Creates and manages the filling system for the project office;
• Provides general advice and information on UN rules and regulations and ensures that all operations are in compliance with these rules/regulations.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:
• Secondary education with specialized certification in Administration/Finance, University Degree in Business or Public Administration would be desirable, but it is no a requirement;
• At least three years of relevant work experience. Experience in working within international organizations and supporting similar programmes are considered an asset.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Other languages of the region are an asset.
